The South Carolina High School League has presented schools a National Award of Excellence Certificate.  This certificate recognizes outstanding sportsmanship, ethics and integrity.  The certificate is given on behalf of the Board of Directors of the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) and the NFHS Citizenship Committee.  

“The National Federation of State High School Associations is committed to providing young people with opportunities to develop into productive citizens,” Robert F. Kannaby, Executive Director of the NFHS, said.  “Our mission is to teach high school students the spirit and as a result make a positive difference in their lives and in our communities.”  

To determine a Region Sportsmanship team winner, each school submitted to the SCHSL Office a region opponent they feel represented outstanding sportsmanship during the school year.  This information along with the officials reports of each school was used to determine the Region Sportsmanship team winner for the year.
