SCCAWS Female Academic Athlete

This scholarship was started in 1991 to encourage student athletes to enter the field of education.  Two shcolarships were awarded in 1993,1994, and 1997.  The awards are pased on both academic excellence and extracurricular involvement.  The applicants must have particpated on at least one athletic team during their senior year.  The scholarships are a one time monetary award presented to incoming feemale college freshmen from South Carolina who plan to major in education.

In 1994-96 and since 1998, the Anne Fullerton Educator's Scholarship was given in her memory. Coach Fullerton was a very dedicated member of SCCAWS and promoted women's sports throughout her life.

Also starting in 1993, an annual $1000 scholarship provided by Marcia Rushton, of Trophies by "M", was presented to an incoming college freshman planning to enter the medical field.  The same criteria as listed for the other scholarships are used.
